Christmas
For Christmas, my mother's siblings and all of my cousins will be coming down to Texas. We will all stay in a hotel, and spend time together. We will then go out to eat, and returns to play games and socialize. They never really come down, so this will be a good time to catch up all all of the things that we have missed. We will also be going to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert with my Uncle, because that is what he wanted for Christmas. For Christmas, I would like something simple like an iTunes gift card. We always get together with our neighbors for a Christmas and New Years celebration days after Christmas.

Why I want to go to College
By going to college, I will accomplish a few different things. The first would be that my mother would be pleased, seeing as no mother wants to see their child wasting away in their basement. The second reason should be rather obvious, I want to study for a high paying job, specifically, Petroleum Engineer. I would obviously be going to college for myself, to get off on the right foot, so to speak, but also to please my mother. When choosing a college, I will look mainly at what scholarships I have where, and whether or not the college offers the field that I want to go into. I will likely ask my mother for input in my college choice, see as she will probably butt-in anyway. By going to college, I will be able to get the job that I want.

For thanksgiving, my family and I will be going to a special hotel in Irving that serves Thanksgiving dinner. We will be going with my grandparents, and prior to the meal, I will be spending the night at my grandparent's house to help set up their decorations.
This is a Turkey, much like the one that we will be eating, but this is a wild turkey. The turkeys that you eat for thanksgiving are grown in a farm and are much less colorful.

Highschooler Jobs
After some basic research, I found that there are plenty of opportunities for teens like us to go out and find a job, one must simply be motivated to go and find one. The one that I found was a Domino's Pizza Customer Service Rep. For a job like this, I would prepare by cleaning up, or possibly bringing my highschool transcript. Jobs like this seem to be very basic tasks that do not require much past experience, making it simple for teens to do. Reasons for teens seeking such jobs may be to afford basic things such are gasoline for their car, or to buy frivolous things such as shoes or movie tickets. This gives teens the opportunity to learn a thing or two about budgeting. It is fairly simple to find a job, especially online, because it is all a mouse click away. All you would have to do is look up jobs available in your area. All in all, a job as a teen gives you a good idea of what the working enviroment, preparing you for the future.

The movie "Homeless to Harvard" seemed to be a very inspirational movie. It showed that no matter where you came from, hard work can take you places that you previously thought impossible. My favorite part was when Liz's mother died, and at that point, decided that she was going to work her tail off. I like this because it shows her perseverance. If I was in the position that Liz was in, I do not think I would have done the same thing. I do not have the faintest idea as to what I would do, but I would probably sulk for a while longer.

Budget Suprises
When creating this budget project, I was the most supprised by the ammout of money to maintain a single person. Obviously, I have never had to pay for these things by myself, but this project showed me exactly how expensive that is. When I get into college, I believe that there will be a rather large transition in my life. I will have to pick up a part time job, as to help pay for my tuition. I belive that I am prepared for what lies ahead. As for preparing now, I could obviously start saving now, or even get a job now to get a better income to pay for my future school.

My Career Choices
My top career choices are highly into math and science. My current top five careers are a Computer Analyst for a company (NSA), Petroleum Engineer, Structural Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Geophysicist. I would want to become a Computer Analyst because I enjoy everything about computers, from the code behind it, to analyzing information. I would also like to work for the NSA as an analyst, following in my uncle's footsteps. I have always had a fascination with rocks. When I was around third grade, I loved fossils and wanted to become a paleontologist. As I grew up, I refined my likes into a Petroleum Engineer. My friend's parents are both Geologists, and one of them is a Petroleum Engineer, and it seems to fall under everything that I enjoy. Another choice of mine, would be a Structural Engineer. My mother is a Structural Engineer, and it also involves many of the things that I enjoy, such as building and math. My fourth career choice is an Electrical Engineer. I would obviously delve into the Computer part of it, as I enjoy working with computers. My final career choice would be a Geophysicist. A Geophysicist studies the Earth, and ways to help improve it. I have always been fascinated with such things, and feel that is might be a career I may enjoy.

What Stresses Me
I am not an intensely stressed out person. I do, however, come from a family of very stressed out people. On my "Stress Test", I scored a 4/24, showing that I am not a very stressed person. There are a few things that do stress me. One of those things would be my yearly doctor visit, this is one of the few things that gets under my skin. I stress out at least a month in advance, fearing that I may be diagnosed with something terrible. It is almost an irrational fear, but I still fear it anyway. To help me get over this, I usually occupy myself with something to take my mind off of the doctor visit. Another one of those things that stress me is the act of constantly failing. I despise failing, let alone doing it repeatedly. This may cause me to become stressed. The only cure for failure, is to learn from your failure, and improve. Yet another things that gets to me is my bad habit of procrastination. Sometimes, I put an assignment off until I become stressed and hurry though it. This is becoming less of a problem as I am coming to the realization of how important grades are in high-school.

Organization and Procrastination
My organizational method involves a binder with a folder for each class. This helps me keep all of my papers and assignments organized. I also keep homework on the left half of the folder, and every night I go through and check each folder for homework.
I tend to procrastinate often, with the "I'll get it done tomorrow" attitude. I usually do get it done, but not in a timely manner. I am usually very stressed about the assignment, having to do it the night before, or maybe two days before. This tension usually shows with bad attitude.
To prevent procrastination, I can set a specific date that I will start and finish the assignment. This will leave plenty of time for corrections, or other assignments. Another way to prevent procrastination, is to just do it the night you get home, or at least start.
